Possible to use command line instead of Qt GUI?

I was able to get this to work on Ubuntu using the GUI that was built with Qt. However, is it possible to process inputs via the command line with this repository? If not, how would we go about doing it. My goal is to convert some video content int stippling animation. Not sure how that can be achieved. Thank you for providing any tips or resources.
