Additional information (please complete the following information):
OS Version : Windows 11 24h2 6100.3476 Software Version : 2.3.1
What other third-party software do you use:
Windhawks: BBtB!, Aero Flyout Fix, Windows 7 Style UAC Dim. All latest versions.
Additional context For me, this issue was easily fixable with the built-in "extend" option up until today.
That is an issue with that mod, not DWMBlurGlass. Windows 11 is annoying. The best way to fix this:
- Install MicaForEveryone
- In MicaForEveryone, remove all options on the side bar except "Global Rule" and "General" (Theres a minus button at the bottom)
- In global rule make sure everything is set to default or off
- Now change "Backdrop Type" to either Mica or Acrylic
- Go to "General" and choose "Reload"
This will fix it. If there is another way to apply Mica or Acrylic to the borders, that could also work. I believe what this does is change the borders to be treated as classic DWM extended frames, which can now have blur applied to them. Otherwise, the blur can't apply.
Not sure I understand... Am I replacing DWMBG with MFE? Or am I just using MFE to patch this specific issue, whilst keeping DWMBG for the main blur effect?
Keep both, MFE is just a patch to the issue. DWMBG is still running to apply the blur. In the end, you won't actually see any effects from MFE, DWMBG will just apply the blur on the borders correctly.
I don't have a 'general rule' option on my UI
The yellow highlight is where you make the change to Mica/Acrylic The green highlight is where you reload the app The red circle is where you remove all other side bar options.
None of these options are available in the latest version. I've installed the 2023 release which has these options, and it isn't changing anything for me.
Note: I'm using 1.3.1.2 (an older release) because the new 2.x version is much different. I don't really know how to do specific stuff in 2.x. Overall, if you can set everything to Mica or Acrylic, however you do it, it will work.

Another option is to use the uDWM patch rather than the one on Windhawk. Link: https://winclassic.net/thread/2853/udwm-borders-shadows-acrylic-windows
I also include a version with a theme I made if you don't want to create a winclassic account. Look under borders: https://github.com/LittleFox2024/Aero7-11
I've not used Windhawk for anything real in a while, because of the other patches and stuff.
I've got it partially working. It extends to the borders, but something has clearly malfunctioned. It only works on Explorer.exe and the brightness has been cranked WAY up.
I've had this issue since r2.3.0. Use dwmblurglass 2.2.0. The issue is fixed there.
I'm on 24H2, so that's not an option, sadly.

Sorry. This has happend to me ever since 2.3.0. 2.3.0 was always crashing anyways.

Can confirm this works on 24H2, thanks!
