.edtz files no longer hidden in Navigator

Open wordeater opened this issue 2 months ago • 2 comments

Starting last night, Saturday 25 October 2025, .edtz files are visible in Navigator. At first, it was just my laptop, but after the files synced, now it is also happening on my phone.

They are still hidden in Obsidian's Core Files view.

Obsidian is version 1.9.14 (242)

make.md is version 1.3.2

Core plugins > Files and links > Detect all file extensions is disabled and has been disabled for at least months, since I started heavily using Obsidian in June of 2025.

Since yesterday, I've tried a number of hacks including .css snippets and various filter attempts in Core plugins > Files and links > Excluded files. None of them made a difference, but I'm fairly certain they are not honored by Navigator.

I also tried disabling all the other Community Plugins and it made no difference.

Please see my comment in the other thread, under Obsidian commands there’s a Make.md manage hidden files. Let me know if you see the extension inside the list of hidden extension rules

I found the setting and .edtz was not listed. I was not aware of that setting so I'm sure I didn't change it.

Adding .edtz immediately fixed the issue.

I thought I read the other thread thoroughly but obviously I did not. Sorry about that.

Is there any simple way to figure how how the setting was changed?
