Feature Request - Add Support for extension Iconize or similar

Open ciddi89 opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

Hello,

this is a feature request and not a bug. I was using the extension 'Iconize' for the icons (stickers) in the default folder tree. I think it would be great to use it in the spaces view of make.md or make it possible to use the most used icon packs (font-awesome, simple icons, materialdesignicons etc.) for the stickers.

Thanks

If you change the iconize setting to save the icons in the vault, you will be able to use the Index SVG setting to use those stickers

Thanks for your reply. Yes I tried it. I added icon packages by myself and added icon packages with the plugin iconize. Here my experience:

Adding packages with iconize is a problem because iconize uses only zip folders. So first at all I have to unzip this. Not a big deal but not user friendly if there are updates.

And then there is a problem with both ways when adding svg icons. The icons are only black and not theme based. This is a problem with dark obsidian themes. Maybe I missed a setting? But I didn't found a way to change it yet.

Got it, if you don't mind waiting, one of the upcoming 1.0 features will allow you to configure icon packs better.

That sounds great! Thank you very much. :)

Although this feature has been added, it is still buggy. For example, when I add an icon from Iconize through Obsidian Options → Change Icons → New Icons, the icons disappear after closing and reopening Obsidian. Similarly, when I move SVG icons into the Icons directory, they stay initially, but after reopening the app, they get removed.
