activation of the plugin 'makemd' freezes obsidian...

As part of a migration from evernote to obsidian, I imported more than 3500 records into a directory. When I activated the 'makemd' plugin, the Obsidian application froze. When restarting obsidian, the application remains frozen. I have to delete the plugin directory in '.obsidian/plugins/' in the vault and restart obsidian. Env: Debian12, obsidian 1.4.16 installed by apt.

I'm seeing the same issue with a lot of notes. I've run a Profile within Obsidian but I don't see any details that would allow me to provide more information on where the stall comes from. If there is a way to get script/function names, I could help get more data.
