Looking for kethane by taking ground samples

Simply a device with a small drill or scoop that you can put on a small remote controlled rover then send it to a planet and use it to search for kethane as an alternative to satelite scans.

It might be nice to be able to detect traces of kethane to tell when you are near, but not right on top of, a deposit.
