Maltrain v3 - Feature Requests
This issue is for documentation of features than can be requested but no guarantee for implementation with specific timeline.
Feature Requests:
- OIDC and/or LDAP
- GDPR (no external resources, no Google fonts, options to turn off tracking, double click solutions….)
- Widget for customizable newsletter form (fields and design)
- Wordpress plugin for form
- docker container pre-build
- Allow MariaDB on local host
- API and Webhooks (new and incoming contacts)
@saschafoerster can you specify what you mean by "Allow MariaDB on local host"? It is not clear to me. Thanks!
@talheim-it It relates to the former issue #1218. I wanted to use the MariaDB on the host, not in docker, but I wasn't able to do so, as some "hardcoded" variables in the startup script weren't fit for this case. :) So in general: make it modular, so you can use either the docker version or the local version (the local version was easier to backup in my case, as I already had backup scripts running there).
@saschafoerster thanks for clarification.
I will take a look on the container as soon as we are starting with the testing. I plan to look to get it running within a k8s cluster.
Feature request: Fix non-root Public URL issue described in https://github.com/Mailtrain-org/mailtrain/issues/696, it has been pending for few years now and is such a simple fix for those who can only use non-root subpath.
Feature request: Support for authentication against external IdP. (Such as Keycloak, ...) In the previous Mailtrain version, only the CAS protocol was supported, which is fine. However SAML and OIDC are the de facto standards today. As MFA and other authentication security features are often centrally implemented at IdP level, such an integration wil provide all these IdP supported functionalities in Mailtrain for free. (i.e.: without any additional Mailtrain development for such features).
Ability to configure a bcc address to receive copies of emails for a campaign
@Raven4140 can you declare it? Usually, when you add your user to the list you get an email automatically.
You can also check to become a test user to send you test emails.
