After hibernating, Xpotify does not play music.
After hibernating, the song was "stuck" at 0:00 and would not start playing. Same for pressing play on the "Release Radar" tile.
Fixed by restarting Xpotify. This then also correctly set the song to it's proper start point where it was (1:44).
Might be the case due to: Hibernate PC -> Play song on mobile -> Power up PC -> Sync mismatch.
Unfortunately bug happens without switching to PC or letting the app hibernate. If you switch apps, it sometimes bugs out and stays at 0:00 or where it was last at. Happens a lot when waking up the PC but can be fixed by restarting the app.
When this happens, does it help if you click somewhere on the playback scrollbar? (Is this what it's called? I'm talking about the thing in the picture below 😂)
I have the same issue. If I leave the application idle for a while (for example, because I put the music in pause then I resume it), then the playback stops working until I restart the app. Sometimes clicking on the playback scrollbar works, but it just plays the current song. Any attempt to move to a different song or album fails until I restart the app.
@qmatteoq Do you remember approximately how long did you keep the app idle when you saw this behavior?
I will try to measure it, but usually it's a long pause (more than 10-15 minutes). If it's just a short pause, the problem doesn't happen.
As this is likely a bug in the Spotify PWA (which I can't fix directly), I'm thinking maybe refreshing the page every 10 minutes or so when the app is not in foreground and is not playing music might be a reasonable workaround for this 🤔
@qmatteoq If you could measure the idle duration for when this happens, please tell me so I can adjust accordingly.
I don't have this exact issue, but when returning to Xpo after a long time not playing music, it takes 10 or more seconds to resume playback. This issue does not exist in the Spotify client, where music can instantly be resumed. Would be very nice if this could be resolved.
