IconPacks for WinUI (both Desktop and UWP)

Open wbokkers opened this issue 5 years ago • 8 comments

With the latest WinUI 3 preview 3, I get the following error on compiling with MahApps.Metro.IconPacks.Material installed: NETSDK1082 There was no runtime pack for Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App.WPF available for the specified RuntimeIdentifier 'win10-arm64'. Xelion

Any change of supporting WinUI in the future?

Removing the arm runtime works. Is targeting arm on the roadmap?

@wbokkers I've never expected that this would be running with WinUI 3, but nice to hear that it works. I must look into the whole WinUI 3 stuff to understand how it could be run with arm support.

@punker76 I was a bit too optimistic. I can compile and use PackIconMaterial in XAML, but unfortunately the icon is not displayed. Instead the type name is displayed.

The main change needed is renaming the namespaces Windows.UI.Xaml to Microsoft.UI.Xaml and find the compilation constant that's being used for WinUI.

@wbokkers did you ever get IconPacks working on Winui in Desktop, or is it a non starter @punker76 ?

@tinmac I got a copy of the most important controls to work on WinUI 3 with some changes. I am not sure if there is a NuGet package now that works on WinUI.
