I removed the groovy things, still no change.

I removed regolith-desktop and ubuntu-desktop, made autoremove and installed both again. No change.

It either is ctrl+w = close current tab/window or ctrl+q = close application On the applications I have opened right now, every application did it, except evince (only did ctrl+w)...
