Additional scrollbar when plugging in an external keyboard

I'm using macdown on OS X. Every time I plug in an external keyboard, an additional scrollbar appears.

I see only one scrollbar here. What exactly is the problem?

There is no scroll bar like this with a white background(which is not so elegant I think) if I use the default keyboard of Macbook Pro. We can scroll the screen directly using the touchpad. It's no big problem, I'm just curious about the reason why the scrollbar appears when I plug in an external keyboard. I think it's not beautiful as well.

I currently work for a input device manufacture, when you connect a input device (no only keyboard, also mouse, even digitizers) with Mac, many Apps (not only macdown, many many apps as well, even Safari) will appear a scroll bar. I do think that's not an issue, do you?

IMO the scrollbar itself is not the problem per se, but it does not look nice in the middle of the window. I’ll try to make the scrollbar background colour match the editor’s (or just make it transparent), which would probably “solve” the problem.

That'll be great. Thanks.

Sorry for posting in an old thread, but I get an double scrollbar here, not exactly sure if it's due to my external keyboard or why it's appearing.

I have two windows open in split screen view and only one is having a double scrollbar.

macOS: Catalina 10.15.7 macdown: Version 0.7.3 (1008.4)

Double: Screenshot 2022-03-03 at 09 30 09

Second window, single scrollbar: Screenshot 2022-03-03 at 09 32 43
