Add line numbers
An option to turn on a display line numbers on the left would be nice.
I too think this would be useful. At the moment, if there are rogue carriage returns when copying text from elsewhere, then you cannot easily tell in MacDown.
This is a must. Moreover, does it have support for Commenting Syntax?
Comments + Line Numbering will make it Collaboration Friendly.
Thank You.
@RoyiAvital There is no comment syntax in MarkDown
I think I saw something like that in other MarkDown applications.
I think CommonMark has one. It would be great to support CommonMark as well.
HTML comments work. Look what happens to this code:
one
<!--
comments
can
go
here
-->
two
one
two
I think this would be useful also. It's very kind of you to add this enhancement.
Yes, other markdown editors, even onine, show line numbers as well as striped tables for code blocks. Plz add. :-)
+line numbers
In the future @CarlKing5019 @paulbhartzog @grimwinoleader, please just click this thumbs up button
instead of making a new comment.
As a stop-gap alternative to adding line numbers, it would be nice to have the current line & column numbers displayed at the bottom (next to the word counts perhaps?).
This might also be a helpful stop-gap measure for #544 (vertical ruler).
Below is a small screenshot from BBEdit showing what I mean. This feature is common in many plain-text editors.

No further updates? Such a disappointment.
This is the one missing feature for me. Super useful when eg; making edits based on a pull request review. Hop to line number would be nice too.
any progress in more than 5 years? it's "sine qua non" for sure. please...
Let's pull a https://github.com/gkoberger/stacksort/pull/4#issuecomment-747656340 here..
