File > Open Recent not showing any recents

Unsure if there is anything that can be done or if I've missed a setting but seems like a bug. Have been creating files for some time and the "Open Recent" always shows nothing.

MacDown: Version 0.7.3 (1008.4) OS: macOS 11.6 (20G165)

Giving this a bump, as it's 2024 and I'm (not) seeing the same thing. Any fix known or planned? Using MacDown on an i9 Macbook Pro running Sonoma 10.14 OS. tia...

this comment suggests this is not a MacDown issue but a MacOS issue, which I don't think it's true. On my machine, MacDown is the only application that shows this unexpected behaviour and I don't think I'm alone.
