Default for display of TOC and References in video player

I just noticed that the new default for the video player seems to be that the table of contents and the references are not displayed and have to be activated by a button. I strongly oppose this change. If there are entries in the TOC or the references, they should be displayed by default (if there are none, I think it is okay not to render the corresponding area).
