Add new map "GridWar" by mpixel

Features:

  • 3d grid entirely composed of indestructible blocks

Details:

  • 4 teams (100 chests for each team)
  • some iron and mese ores

From the screenshot, sounds like a cool map :)

Edit: This is my review:

The map is cool, interesting, yet very simple. I like it. I don't see much of a thing which needs to be changed before a merge. Though I didn't exactly count the number of ores for each side. I think this map is suitable for all game modes we currently have(nade, classes and classic). I think in future, this map could be a good candidate for flagwars as well.

There are some stuff which I don't have explicit opinion on them but are of great note:

  • Perhaps the map should be a little bit brighter by default? or perhaps left it as is so players can hide in the shadows?
  • Perhaps there are too few ores there? Maybe add some mese crystals as ores or as treasure chest items?

Thank you for your review. Players can find some mese (15%) and iron(20%) ores from treasures. To use mese in treasures players need to have steel pickaxe at least. Also there are (2+6)*3=24 mese ores and 18+17*2=52 iron ores for each team, if I counted correctly.

Hello, I tested your map, I like it but it disturbs me: its darkness disturbs me, I can't see anything... Maybe making a roof in verse with a fixed time at 8:00 for example would be nice. When I spawn, my hotbar is full (I suggest you leave out the worms and put in 99 block of cobble. Finally, I don't think the nade fight mod is a good choice for this map. It lets you climb, but it's almost impossible to get to the sides without falling into holes and losing 3/4 of your life. screenshot_20240614_145457

When I tested the map, it was bright enough like in the first screenshot. The walls and floor should be darker, because that was the design. Additionally, I think nade fights is the best mode for this map. I don't understand how you were losing your life. And HP regen is fast in nade fights

This error happened on every map on my PC, so I ignored it.

The map appears darker on your PC than on mine. This is due to the light curve gamma.

I may add more sources of light if others also experience darkness.

The map does not have any bugs in it as far as I can tell, but in my personal opinion it is a little too simple. I personally like complicated maps, so it's probably just me. Also, I also would think that more light would be nice.

I can see the kind of idea you're going for here, a map that takes place in a 3d-grid of sorts. I find the design a bit repetitive though. It would be nice if there were some things to break up the monotony of the map like some more spots with ores or some platforms with chests on them. Functionally speaking, there's only one issue I have. For some reason, some areas are filled with buildtime barriers. I don't get why they're here. Hi,

I have just one comment for your map:

The ores found in the chests are not a problem, but the fact that it is in the form of stone + ores disturbs me. Shouldn't we do as for the map "abandoned_isles" and put the ores directly?

This map is going to be redone because I think players will rarely encounter each other in such a huge 3D map and will speedrun it too quickly. So, I will turn it into a two-team map with small chokepoints where players are more likely to meet.

No structures have actually been changed. Most things were added through init.lua. What changed:

  • Players won't get damage from falls
  • If a player reaches the bottom floor, they will be teleported to the top
  • The map's lighting is much better
  • Added custom random texts
