Same Effect w. out outline?

First off ....very cool effect and thank you, but I find myself desiring this effect for more basic text. is it possible to create the same effect easily that follows a single path down the center of each letter instead of the outline way by default?

That's not easily doable unfortunately because the Font isn't just a simple line
