[ FEATURE REQUEST ] "Locked" apps.

Open aRandomMenno opened this issue 10 months ago • 1 comments

I know there are hidden apps and as some suggested in #316 that it could be password protected, however I don't want to enter my password every time I use those apps.

So I suggest there to be a special category, if you add an app to that category it first asks for a pin you will have to set yourself, could be device unlocks, but could also be a custom pin of minimum 4 numbers.

warning: headaches ahead for implementing!!! If you want to get really advanced you can try to make the app also an applocker and make it so when you launch the app from settings it also asks for your pin, however I don't know how to implement this and it would probably be very hard so you can try if you want but you don't have to! 😁

Take a look at (this)[https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-lock-apps-on-your-android-phone/] XDA article. It explains how to do this systemwide.

This will be supported natively in Android 15 ("private space") and I try to support that, but that's it.

I don't know if that's possible, but even if it is, there is no reason why this would need to be part of a launcher. Someone should develop their own app just for that purpose.

Okay! Thank you, in the meantime I have also found an app to lock certain apps.
