FYI: Here are a series of updates to your python examples adjusted to syntax changes found in Tensorflow 1.5.x built from source with CUDA 9.1.

FYI: no code changes were needed when I tested this with a more recent version of Tensorflow. This code still works with Tensorflow 1.7.1 w/ CUDA 9.1 & cudnn 7.0
