DataCite metadata review by Ted Habermann

Ted Habermann kindly ran his metadata reporting tools against PhysioNet metadata extracted from DataCite. Two of the reports are below:

I think the general message here is that we can make significant improvements to the quality of PhysioNet metadata in DataCite by simply mapping more of our metadata to the DataCite schema.

We should look over these reports and:

  1. Map existing metadata to the DataCite schema.
  2. Work out what additional metadata we should be collecting as part of the submission process (e.g. funding information).
  3. Work out how we can augment our metadata with additional useful information (e.g. Ted also has a tool that can be used to extract unique resource IDs ("RORs") for affiliations).
