Units of OMR measurements

Open ladygreythorn opened this issue 5 months ago • 1 comments

Which units do the OMR measurements use when it is not declared in the measurement name? For some entries in the omr table, result_name, the unit is documented in the measurement type (e.g. BMI (kg/m2), Height (Inches), Weight (Lbs)) as for others (BMI, Height, Weight) no unit is documented. Which unit is used for the latter?

Empirically, the distributions of Height and Weight are very much like Height (Inches) and Weight (Lbs), so I think it's safe to assume that they are in the same units. Similarly, the distributions of BMI (kg/m2) and BMI appear the same, so again I think it safe to assume they are equivalent.

In cases where there are simultaneous measurements of height and weight, I was able to compute BMI and look at the difference from that computed value to simultaneously recorded BMI values. The vast majority are within a few units of each other, though there are a few instances in which the difference is very large (note log scale). Of course each distribution contains numerous outliers that should probably be filtered out.
