seems some urine output data are missing

Hi, I used the pivoted-uo.sql to get urine output. But, I found it looks like some missing data in it. Take the patientunitstayid = 213517 for example: In patient table, there is only one record for this patientunitstayid and the unitdischarge offset is 56113. In UO table made by pivoted-uo.sql, the chartoffset are 4,304 ...32749 and then jump to 60004,61324,...85924.

The UO data between 32749 and 56113 seems missing. So do some patients. And I also can't realize why the patient still have UO data after discharging from ICU since the patient leaves ICU at 56113 and don't admit to ICU again.

These made me confused. Do I misunderstand something?

Thanks in advance.

Hm, perhaps the Foley was taken out during then? If the patient continues to have heart rate measurements during that time, then that's the most likely answer. It could be that when they remove the Foley they cease documenting UO in that specific place.

Hi, Thanks for reply. That makes sense. But, I still can't understand why this patient has UO data. The discharge time was 56113 but the time of UO seemed beyond discharge time. Any idea about that? Thank you very much.

Best, Mikey

It might be they are in a step down ward where documentation continues. The eICU system ingests data from a lot of different systems, so sometimes you see out of hospital data. It depends on the hospital the patient is admitted to.
