Windows 11 jTraverser and jTraverser2 can't 'OPEN' trees

Open gauge2 opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

Hi gang,

One of our guys is trying to use his new windows 11 laptop to view data but following same instructions for thick client config used for windows 10, he cannot open a tree on our tree server or locally on his machine. open is grayed out. He can however use connect and SSH to open trees on the tree server but this is not optimal given the rest of our setup.

We've tried disabling firewalls, resetting env variables, reinstalling different versions (stable 131.5 and 131.6; alpha 131.7) with no joy.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Hmmm - Does anyone else have this problem? Is he the only Windows 11 user? If he runs

$ tditest
mdsconnect('the-server-specified-in-thick-client')
mdsvalue('whoami()')

what does he get

you could try in jTraverser2. open and add server:: in the path field. .. or in the tcl tool check your environment vars. i do have windows11 and did not experience any problems.
