A lot of changes were introduced in 1.20.6 on which there was little info. I managed to work my way through debugging and figure them out, so today I got the first working 1.20.6 version that I will release for testing, after which I will update it to 1.21. The changes between 1.20.6 and 1.20.4 are huge, but the changes between 1.20.6 and 1.21 are smaller.
Still work in progress, working on structured components, there is a lot more code to write to get it functional.
Any update on 1.21 version since @milutinke ?
I completed the implementation of Structured Components, however I do not have the free time to wire and test them up due to my full time work and university attendance, other maintainers can do it. If I catch any free time I could add 1.21 support over the weekend, but without any inventory or terrain options for now. Because those things will require a lot of manual testing, debugging and potential fixing, since there is a lot of new code added.
For me personally, being able to simply log in is everything I need. Keep up the great work!
We really appreciate everyone that spends their time working on this project but its a shame that it takes to long to support newer versions. Similar to @kqfflo I too only want to be able to join a server for AFK farming, would it be possible to release such a version?

This fork supports 1.21, but Inventory handling and Entity handling are not supported

Made progress in #2820 It's working, except clicking on inventory items and command auto completion for the server commands. There might be more bugs I haven't caught. You can checkout my code and run it locally.
I have been using the version from Robert-Kidder, however it crashes most of the time with a big failure message after login before I can chat. Login is the main thing I need and chat would be nice so I can run a couple commands.
However, that version no longer works with 1.21.6, so now I'm completely out of luck. I can't even log in without waiting for the full client to boot up.
If I could suggest, perhaps the Minecraft Client Console would be split into two variants. Minecraft Client Console Lite, which just has log in and chat, and is updated with every new version. And Minecraft Client Console Full, which has the support for all the features that most people don't need, and it can be updated with multi-year lag for people who need those features and are okay just playing on old servers.
Or, perhaps a freemium model where the basic login/chat can be free, but you pay a subscription for early access to more advanced features. Or maybe you have a membership to get it 30 days earlier than everyone else.
This software has been a significant time saver of many hours. Surely there is a better solution to keep it up to date.
