Add option to create archives with 'zst' file extension

Open dcog989 opened this issue 10 months ago • 2 comments

We can create archives with compression format of Zstandard but can only use '7z' or 'zip' archive format / extension.

Can we have the option to create archives with 'zst' or 'zstandard' file extension / archive format?

It seems we have already have the option in the add archive UI because NanaZip inherited the 7-Zip ZS changes.

OK. I see that we can manually rename the extension for the archive to e.g. '.zst'. But that requires always using 'Add to archive...' and manually changing the extension every time.

It would be nice to have context menu option 'Add to <Archive>.zst' or have the extension automatically update when we select 'Compression method - Zstandard'.

Or could there be a zst 'Archive Format' which then sets the extension to match? E.g. Peazip recognises Zstandard as a separate format - https://peazip.github.io/zst-compressed-file-format.html
