Toolbar icon invisible when button moved to menubar

Open nollinvoyd opened this issue 4 years ago • 11 comments

Firefox 70

When I move the toolbar button to the menu bar, the space becomes occupied by the button, but the icon is invisible unless you mouse hover over it, and even then, it is a greyed out version of what it should look like.

It displays normally on the nav bar.

Could be another theme issue. Please provide a link to the skin you use.

Edit: And pleas try a Firefox restart after moving the button to the menubar

I've tried to reproduce your issue without any success. So currently I would have to close this one as it works for me without problems. Please provide more information.

It was the Firefox "default" theme. I changed to the "light " theme, and now it displays properly.

Thanks

I was not able to reproduce at all. Also not with "default" theme. But I only tried on Linux, so far. I don't own any systems running Windows.

I have the same issue. Both default and light theme makes icon invisible. Barely visible when mouse over. 2020-02-13 01_55_03-Toolbar icon invisible when button moved to menubar · Issue #67 · M-Reimer_undoc 2020-02-13 01_54_52-

Visible in dark theme: 2020-02-13 01_56_44-Toolbar icon invisible when button moved to menubar · Issue #67 · M-Reimer_undoc

Seems to be a color scheme issue. On windows btw.

Tried in the same configuration. Works for me. Is there anything special in your setup? Can you start with a second, fresh, profile to verify it also fails there?

So I just saw today that it went back to normal, without me doing anything. I'll try that if it happens again. Don't close this issue yet. 2020-02-13 20_33_25-

I have had this issue (the icon becoming grey and barely visible) using Dark Gold theme and this problem appears when I install some other extension. I do not know whether this will provide any useful information for reproducing the issue yet Undo Close Tab is the last extension in the tool bar. However I have found a workaround which resolves the problem- uninstalling and then reinstalling the extension restores the extension icon in tool bar in normal colour, screen:

Undo Close Tab 5 0 0 - 2020-03-23 - 002

However I didn't take a screen-shot when the problem occurred, if it happens again I will take a screen.

fyi i also frequently have this issue. I use the default Mozilla theme, it changes automatically from Light to Dark theme.

I can not always reproduce the issue though. And a restart of Firefox fixes the problem.

Perhaps it is related to the automatic switching with light/dark mode...

Firefox 97.0 (64-bit)
