Crashing on MacOS when trying to install a package

Open Phatcat opened this issue 9 months ago • 4 comments

What happened?

When it first opens and you select to install a package like InvokeAI, it will take a couple of seconds then crash. If you choose to skip it, and go in to install invoke manually within the package menu where you can choose version and everything, it crashes instantly upon clicking install.

Ain't getting a crash report because it all just crashes...

Edit* : When doing a portable install there's no issue with installing packages, but a regular non-portable install on mac when you try to install a package it seems to be crashing.

Exception Details

No response

Version

v2.13.4

because you are using ExFat formatting hard disk, that's the problem, try with a APFS volume and it works fine.

That's a negative, I am not switching to APFS but it's fine, portable is good enough. Also that's not a solution to the actual problem, which is that the program is crashing, no?... that would just be a circumvention to effectively hide/ignore it...

I am not going to change my whole filesystem to comply with an app, the only app, that crashes because of it, especially when the simple workaround is to install it in portable, if I never move the installation it don't see how it would functionally be different from having a non-portable install.

i have installed the app in External Hd not formatted in ExFat, this is the solution for Apple Mac.

Well, I was having the same problem as it worked before when the external HDD was in APFS format, but not now when it was changed to exFAT. Weird issue to have, any workarounds ?
