rocm package install of Comfyui keeps asking for CUDA and an Nvidia GPU but it is installed as rocm!

I solved this by overwriting the pytorch files with rocm specific ones.

Sadly after building another pc now it fails on the new one while this worked before.

Another day has passed and the 2nd pc I installed this on is working. I guess if you build many of these systems you need to learn ubuntu and Linux from the inside out if unlucky.

What to do:

• make sure you have rocm installed as per the latest or a compatible version from the website.

This could go wrong if it went wrong it might in my analysis be that further in the process when installing comfy through stabilitymatrix that we have issues launching a non cuda version making the system install cuda rather then rocm as it is the default.

• remove the package initially installed or install the packages specified for Ubuntu in the Comfy manual.

There are issues with ubuntu 24. For example although using the same installation module right now i can not do anything login window etc. disappears and more. This unpredictable removal of package can cause issues.

My god are you guys F'ing with me it worked, after everything I went through it was running all the way up to ksampler then it got stuck there crashed my system and now after rebooting I am back at it asking for cuda, making my suspicions of the issue being with the rocm installation more sure, because comfyui updates is off.

I now keep getting asked for cuda again while it worked moments ago!

I got it to recognise my rx7900xtx after uninstalling torchsde. anything that could contain anything not rocm optimised can throw the whole thing off without warning or explanation. the problem now is that sde is missing which provides an error.

Reinstalling torchsde worked in the end for now, not done a run yet.
