Hello all,
I've some troubles working with automotive IES files Type A (I guess).
I'm getting this error message:
Unsupported photometric type IES file: 0
There is some information about IES types (there is my guess coming from :-)) https://lightinganalysts.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/22000209748-type-a-type-b-and-type-c-photometry
There are the sample files that represent the IES type that I like to use: sample_IES.zip
Thanks a lot.
Notes from some reading:
This page lists some relevant standards: https://blog.ansi.org/ansi/standard-file-photometric-data-ies-lm-63-19/
It seems the file provided is from the 1995-edition of the standard, while subsequent versions are 2002 and 2019. (ANSI/IES LM-63-19)
It also seems the IES format is going to be deprecated (or already is ? ) in favor of an XML-based format in ANSI/IES TM-33-18.
I will check if I have access to the standards documents.
Assuming the most relevant distinction between the Photometric types A/B/C is the coordinate system convention, this might be relatively easy to include.
Further aspects like an extended source could be more difficult, but I'd have to see the standards document first.
Hi,
All right. The different IES standards seem to handle more and more complexity in the header... my particular case needs only the common vertical and horizontal angles with corresponding intensity values, but with type A axis and orientation. This seems to be equal in all standards since the early beginning.
For future, support of more file formats wouldn't be something someone will deny.
