Kwin bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395725 Its caused by the blur effect, you can disable it in the system settings -> desktop behavior -> desktop effects.
In the screenshot the shadow already is at 50px with 40% strengh.. and using more than this doesn't make a big difference using dark themes anyways :)

I managed to have a stronger outline by changing this line: `painter.setPen( gradientStopColor( g_shadowColor, g_shadowStrength*0.5 ) );` to: `painter.setPen( Qt::black );` It's not 100% opaque black and gives a nice...

That's really strange. Does it also happen with the Breeze decoration?
This really seems to be a configuration issue, not sure exactly where, but probably not in Lightly part. The thinner slider background is intentional.
Cannot reproduce. Does the same happen with other non Breeze styles?
Checkmarks should have the same background color as buttons, so the visibility depends on the color scheme. There is an issue, however, that is specially visible in the qml parts...
