Export terms to Anki with learning status
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. My LUTE and Anki language learning flows become disconnected, while I want to use them simultaneously. For example, if I update a word’s status while using LUTE, I have to manually reflect that change in the corresponding Anki flashcard (if it’s even possible), which disrupts the workflow and adds extra effort.
Describe the solution you'd like When creating Anki cards from LUTE, their "learning status" should be initialized automatically based on the term’s status in LUTE. Additionally, any changes to the learning status in LUTE should be synced to Anki during exports to keep both systems aligned.
Hi there, thanks for the issue. This would be nice but it's complicated or impossible to do well in a general sense.
Syncing Lute statuses to Anki: Anki's algorithms set the learning levels for cards based on your learning history for that card. I don't know how to trick Anki into thinking that your card should be set to a "mature" level etc based on its Lute status.
Syncing Anki status to Lute: this is potentially tricky because any Anki note can have multiple cards. For example, for my German Anki notes, I have a few different cards: one for recognizing ("die Schnur = ?"), one for production (picture of string => "die Schnur"), and one for gender ("___ Schnur"). Each of these might have different statuses, so I can't say offhand which of these is the right one to copy over to Lute.
So it's tricky! Ideas welcome, but since setting statuses in Lute is so easy, I'm not too bothered by it myself.
I second this, since it feels more natural to me that we can sync Anki status back to Lute, and this could provide a sense of progression somehow? I would appreciate this feature even if we couldn't decide the right card to sync though : )
