Micropanels in 5.1

Open NGFrankW opened this issue 7 years ago • 6 comments

Hi,

thanks for this very useful tool.

So far I have used the hovering panel instead of the "popup" or "new tabs" method to display the complete list of available translations like this one: https://addons.cdn.mozilla.net/user-media/previews/full/173/173494.png?modified=1462707638 It seems that the new version 5.1 supports only a small "micropanel" with a very limited list of translations. How can I enable the big and more complete list again?

Best regards Frank

web-extensions currently don't support hovering panels. I'm working with mozilla to get an alternative implemented: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1364404

For now, the only way is to use the popup option. Please be patient, it's currently looking good that this will be possible in the future again.

One more small request: Please enable closure of the micro- or other panels by ESCAPE key press! (Now the panel only closes by clicking outside... I think ESC used to work in older versions).

Thank you so much in advance for all the work you put in! Your Dict.cc is still the best in-page translator for me!

Good news everyone: My request https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1364404 has been approved. Not sure how long it will take until it's available tho.

Hi Lusito,

congrats! Can I download somewhere and install the previous version until then?

Best regards Frank

Sure you can. On the add-on page there is a section about versions with a link to previous versions: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/dictcc-translation/versions/ Choose Version 5.0.3, as older versions won't run on Firefox 52 and above.

Thanks, it works now again. Have still installed Firefox 50 because of an incompatibility with another plugin.

Best regards Frank
