How do I change to default a Schematic file

Hi, I opened a schematic file with my note pad, and now when I try to put the file into my server files it doest recognizes it, and all the schematics I download are notepad files now, how do i make them schematic files again!!! pls help

You have to change the ending of the file to .schematic
