Is there any hope for further development of this plugin?

Hey @LumosLovegood, I want to thank you for this initiative and effort! It would be a shame if more didn't come of it, because I think this plugin has a lot of potential.

Merging of the contributions by @sytone would be a great way to restart development. I've tested the issue8 branch in sytone's fork, and it already has a lot of improvements, including some open issues here.

If there are no plans for further development, then perhaps @sytone would want to continue his fork as the main repository for this project going forward?

If two-way sync could be achieved I think that would be the key to making this plugin central to many productivity workflows.
