I know you can't use the GitHub API, but can't you use JSDelivr to download a release?

Maybe a configuration option (i.e. `allow_registration`) that is set to false by default could be used for it then, I do believe it would be useful in some cases.
Clever idea, and that does actually help me get all the issues and be able to solve them. Just would be good if there was a better way to actually...
