Document release schedule

Every release needs to have these, in order:

  • alpha = Optional, if features/fixes need to be tested earlier on.
  • beta = Required.
  • rc = Required.
  • stable = Required. This should be the same as rc (even the version should NOT include "rc") assuming there are no last minute issues.

Although we do have some alpha/beta/rc testers, most people prefer to use the stable releases which is understandable. That normally means some last-minute bugs are found and then we go straight from a stable X.Y.0 release to a X.Y.1 release to address those. Before the X.Y.1 release, we try not to add anything huge for the next minor X.(Y + 1).0 release.

Stable releases are tentatively planned to be released every 3 months.
