Display a more user-friendly message on first run (for non-GUI versions)
When twinkle-console
or twinkle -c
is launched for the first time (i.e. without a configuration file present), the output is a rather unfriendly:
Critical: Cannot open file for reading: /home/user/.twinkle/twinkle.cfg
An additional explanatory note would be nice in such a case, explaining how a configuration file must initially be created with the GUI, or copied from somewhere else. (This used to be more important back when distributions were only shipping GUI-less versions, but nonetheless.)
This was initially filed on Launchpad as #1533561.
This has also been filed as Debian #956926.
Unsure if possible, but it would be nice to initialize a minimal .cfg on boot in non-GUI version and quit instructing the user that it has to be edited/filled out.
