[Suggestion]: Reduce Fluid Cable Capacity to less than 16 buckets.
I originally thought my tinkers tank was deleting lava... because my lava generation was just draining and the [additional storage] tank was staying empty. Turns out that each fluid cable holds 16 bucks of fluid, and i needed to backup 64 bucks of lava to start filling the storage tank. This can be very confusing for a lot of reasons, as well as a risky interesting way to store liquids, and gave me the impression the tinkers tank was just sucking up lava and deleting it.
I think it would reduce confusion, improve balance, and be a tad more realistic.
could lower it to something like 4 buckets.
More important than the number (which could be a config anyway), some way to inform the player that the buffer exists. some info text or TOP integration or visual cue. for example Refined Pipes mod has a buffer but it shows you the fluid
I think putting it a config (with a much lower default value) is an Excellent Idea!
I thought most mods used 250mb or 1 bucket as a default... Is there a particular reason it needs an inventory that large when it's purpose is to transfer? I think 1 bucket for a default would probably be best, as that's what most recipes use. If that slows down the rate my tanks fill at, imo, it adds to the realism; And currently it's A: A poor way to store liquids, and B: A good way to lose 16 buckets when you try to move your fluid cable, and C: Seems a bit overpowered for early game cables (they cost Brick stairs and Gold nuggets on Sky Factory One, not sure if the default recipe is different). Tinkers Smeltery holds 4 buckets? You can just store 64 buckets in the line. Storage tanks become unnecessary. 1 Bucket or 250mb Default Value makes the most sense if it were my mod. Things in real life need some time to travel, and some of that helps with game emersion.
My 2 cents. Thanks for addressing it!
On top of that, even while knowing that the cables have a buffer, if you keep switching cable connections back and forth I've had it happen multiple times that fluid got voided anyway. But this might also be caused by other mod's compatibility or just be a different related issue. I haven't been able to figure out yet which it is.

Seems that anything you do voids the fluid. IMO having a very small buffer would negate the need for telling people about the buffer. I also feel like seeing my tinkers tank fill up instantly is almost game breaking. it would be cooler if it filled nice and slow (like 100mb/s methinks)... especially since the recipe for these seems to be fairly early game pipes. Also, I don't think there's many things that consume more than that except for ex-nihilo converting buckets into solid blocks or full liquids, and even then, filling those barrels at 100mb/s or 250 or something would be better and more immersive...
The fact that the pipes already have an interface means it should be pretty easy to drop a number into it so people know what's in it, and if a more motivated person wanted to put in a bar or level, they could. I'm all about immersion what can i say.
I might be repeating myself at this point, so i'll just let the mod creator do his thing his way :D
