Power Supply Id Bypass

Did you ever run into the issue with throttling to 800mhz if the power supply identification fails? This is long standing issue with dell power supplies. I was thinking it might be possible to bypass this check in the bios. I looked around in UEFITool and found DellPsidPei and that looks the most likely but I don't know enough about modifying a bios to go any further.
