Add non-ANSI mode for the terminal

The terminal's live-updates makes it good for humans, but bad for log files and so on. We should add a switch for a non-ANSI mode.

@njlr I noticed that when I added the cli help on #174 but I didn’t want to change further, I think it would be better for the help command just a regular output instead of the output with some color. Definitely a non-ansi mode switcher would be great! We should work on it.
