Apple Watch Loop not updating consistently after updating to v3.8.0
Hello all. I recently updated to Loop v3.8.0 on iOS 26 (iPhone 16 Pro Max), and Apple Watch series 10. Since updating, the Watch widget isn’t showing the reading consistently and instead just three dashes most of the time. This rarely happened before, but it now seems after a short duration I need to force it to open Loop to refresh, which is new behavior.
Happy to raise on Zulipchat but wondered if anyone else was experiencing this? Huge thanks as always!
I’m getting the same thing after updating to 26. I’m using an Ultra 1.

Just bumping this. Are others experiencing this? Thanks
Same here...going to try uninstalling from the watch and reinstalling.
I’ve tried that, hasn’t seemed to fix it for me sadly. The watch is also now paired with a new phone - same behaviour.Sent from my iPhoneOn 25 Sep 2025, at 23:37, msinkovich @.***> wrote:msinkovich left a comment (LoopKit/Loop#2348) Same here...going to try uninstalling from the watch and reinstalling.

Ok…for me I have a 14pro and a series 7 watch.
Yesterday I removed the complication from the watch face and shut down the watch. I rebooted my phone and then turned my watch back on. I reinstalled the complication and have been getting consistent readings on my watch.

Thanks. Giving that a go. Reinstalling didn’t work before, but worth another try!
Just tried. Same behaviour unfortunately.
iPhone 17 Pro Max (although only just upgraded, same on my 16 Pro Max prior). Apple Watch series 10. Happens with both Loop 3.8.0 and 3.8.1.
Thanks!
I'm also seeing this behavior on 3.8.0 to the point it caused me to seek out and find this issue.
iPhone 13 Pro w/ iOS 26.0 Watch Series 7 w/ WatchOS 26.0
Hello @DanUK3 ,
I have exactly the same issue. The watch does not properly updated the data since I upgraded it to Watch iOS 26.0.2.
I was wondering if my Watch is too old (Apple Watch Ultra 1), but it doesn’t seem that’s the problem.
I send a couple images attached.
Hopefully the community can find a solution soon.
Cheers, Alex
Just to clarify, is this seen only in the widgets / complications, or is the Loop Watch app itself showing stale data? It's not clear from the issue title, but from the comments it seems like people are referring to the data in the complication.
Thank you! The app itself is fine - it’s the complication that has the issue.

I see the same behaviour.
Apple Watch 10 : WatchOS 26.1 iPhone 16 Pro : iOS 26.1 Loop Dev 3.9.2 (with Food Search)
I had this issue with bit the G7 app and Loop. I deactivated the complications. Turned both phone and watch off. Turned phone back on. Then the watch. Added the complications again. Has been working well since (couple of hours).

The issue came again as my watch updated to watchOS 26.1.
Thanks for your reports. They are noted.
If you build to the dev branch, currently at version 3.9.3, you will have access to Live Activity on your watch.
- Does having access to Live Activity solve your problem?
- Do the updates in the dev branch help with the Loop complication on the watch?

Dear Marion,
Thank you for your work and support.
I’ve been using the dev branch (version 3.9.3) and I get the following conclusions:
- Having access to Live Activity did not solve my problem on the Apple Watch, because when I tap Live Activity it didn’t direct me to the Loop App. That means, the data from Live Activity does not transfer to the Loop App on the Apple Watch. Therefore, the widget/complication on the app cannot be updated that way.
However I find it fantastic on the iPhone. Being able to read my blood sugar levels on the screen when I’m using the phone is something I like very much.
- The updates in the dev branch definitely helped with the Loop complication on the watch. Until my watch uploaded to the latest WatchOS, then I have again the same problem, but I find a way to solve it:
If one of the devices updated (my iWatch updated automatically), then I updated both devices, to make sure watch and phone are updated. What I do afterwards is build Loop again. And since then its working the way it should.
I hope this might help some other Loopers with this issue.
Wishing you all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
Alex
