Logging

A log file would be great for tracking one's weight loss – weight in terms of tabs, I mean.

In addition to the opening and closing of a tab, events that might be meaningful to log are the starting and stopping of the add-on, and the starting and stopping of the browser.

(I find it hilarious that there actually is demand, and not just from me, for an add-on that counts the number of open tabs!)

Not sure if I get the usecase, though. Isn't it easier to track the tab loss by just comparing the initial and final numbers?

Oh, what I had in mind was using the log to plot the change over time, not just for determining tab loss, which was kind of a tongue-in-cheek example, but for seeing usage patterns in general.
