[Layout] Shouldn't the last split be at the bottom?
Screenshot:
On regular LiveSplit, the last split, "UNDERTALE", would be on the bottom with "always show last split" selected. If the current behaviour is correct, where is the option to show this split at the bottom?
Yeah in LSO it always shows the last split, but doesn't force it to be at the very bottom if it can just show all splits anyway. It's mostly intentional that it's like this. Do you feel strongly about it? Also cc @wooferzfg what are your thoughts?
I do feel strongly about it, though it's mostly just opinion.
On regular LiveSplit, there's a setting for this: "Lock Last Split to Bottom", which is only activated as a choice if "Fill with Blank Space" is True.
If "Fill with Blank Space" is True and "Lock Last Split to Bottom" is False, then those settings make regular LiveSplit behave just like LiveSplit One. But if "Fill with Blank Space" is True and "Lock Last Split to Bottom" is also True, then regular LiveSplit behaves as you would expect.
I personally like the look of when "Fill with Blank Space" is False myself, but then I sometimes have to adjust the window height manually when switching categories, so it's understandable that a lot of people like "Fill with Blank Space" to be True by default. But when "Fill with Blank Space" is True, I personally like the look of "Lock Last Split to Bottom" being False better, and that's what LiveSplit One does.
I have no idea how easy or hard it would be to add a "Lock Last Split to Bottom" setting to LiveSplit One, but if it were to be implemented, I would hope it would default to False so that any existing layouts that have "Fill with Blank Space" as True would display the same way as they always have
It would likely be a pretty simple addition, since the blank space is already there and implemented. Maybe a day?
I personally would want it to default to True, like regular LiveSplit. Maybe we should run a poll? Not here, of course, but you know what I mean.
I like the LiveSplit One default better, but having a setting for it seems like a good idea regardless
