[Feature request]: hide extension option to allow more space for file name

Some people prefer having more space for the file name rather than the extension of the file.

Describe your feature request!

Add an option to disable the extension from appearing in the file name, and instead use the space for showing more file name of needed.

Additional context

this should compliment the consistent file name for grid and list view feature.

also keep showing file extension if file name is too long butterfly.bfly should become -> but....bfly
