Direct draw on rM2
It probably would be worth it to do direct draw on the rM2 with https://github.com/matteodelabre/waved
Is waved working for that currently? If it indeed can do something similar to the rM 1's drawing, then this could make the game work similarily well on the rM 2 (if not even better due to more processing power).
Will try to take a look into it.
My understanding is that it still needs a little bit of work to make it perform better, but it does work to do direct draw.
Cool. I don't need too much stuff anyway. The game window just needs the fastest black/white-only mode. It doesn't need any grayscale.
