Learning objectives are the highest level and focus on what the learner will learn.

Suggestion for learning objectives for this section:

  1. Identify an appropriate metadata schema for learner's data
  2. Validate metadata for their identified schema

I think these would fit better into the Findable episode. Can you have a look at those objectives and see if you think the ones you suggested fit?

Currently in the GoogleDoc we have these:

  • Understand reasons for assessing a digital object for FAIRness and limits for such assessment
  • Know about some available tools for assessing FAIRness

I put them here, because they are important steps in Assessing whether your data are FAIR. But the metadata topic, as I discussed with @ragamouf yesterday, pretains to all four F, A, I, R principles. Ex: if you don't have valid metadata in an appropriate schema, your data won't be Findable, Accessible, or Reusable.

@reblake @pherterich and I made some progress on the episode if you want to have another look https://librarycarpentry.org/lc-fair-research/07-assessment/index.html

Let us know if you have additional feedback.

@pherterich please submit some pull requests on the episode so you can get credit. For reference, if you want to make some formatting updates see https://github.com/carpentries/lesson-example/blob/gh-pages/_episodes/04-formatting.md.
