Adding notes / quality of workout to finished workouts
Describe the solution you'd like I'd like to have a possibility to add a little note or perhaps also a rating of 1-10 on how well the workout went.
Sometimes just tracking the lifts and weights isn't enough for me and being able to track how I'm feeling during the workout and adding some verbal logging is important.
I suppose you could have that below the bodyweight input and perhaps a setting to turn it off/on per session.
If this is possible I could also help with implementation.
Hey! Thanks for the feedback and the offer to help! It's definetely something we can add. Just wondering though if exercise notes cover your use case?

Ah yes, thanks, I'll try it out with this first! Hadn't seen it in the dropdown.
Also ty for your work, it's a really great app to use so far.
Okay so after about a week of using the notes for exercises it definitely feels more like misusing than using to me, as I will just write general notes about how e.g. my warmup went in the last exercise I've done. But since the information carries over from last time, it doesn't feel quite right.
So having a general workout note would be quite nice. As I've noted above, it could just be an option like bodyweight per session/workout, as it kind of functions on a similar level (as in: once per session information about the whole session, regardless of exercises done)
I suppose I'd be mostly a change to the session-component?
Also sidenote: i think the wording regarding whole workout vs specific exercises could be specified a bit better, as the latter is called "workout" in the naming of the "workout notes", which should probably be "exercise notes"?
Thanks for giving it a try! This is really good feedback and I'll try to address it all :)

Ah so it doesn't really "carry over" so much as show you your notes from last time. I use it in such a way that I might write "this was easy" so I know to up the weight more than usual. But last time's notes don't persist for this time. Does that make sense?

Yeah this would be totally fine with me, I'm not entirely sure where I'd put the button for editing it, maybe just in the top level overflow? Open to ideas. When you set notes on the plan they show up on the top.

Yeah I'm really stuggling with clear terminology. Basically we have the workout, which is kind of an instance of a workout plan? Anyuway the "workout" in this case refers to the fact that these notes apply to this workout only, not the plan.
Maybe it would be better to rename "Plan notes" to something like instructions

I think at the bottom with the bodyweight would be a better spot, at least for me, as i usually only take notes once I'm done with all the exercises.
To me it's more about jutting down the general feeling I had during the exercise, to know if I'm overworking myself etc. which I can usually only know at the end of a session (apart from lifting, I'm also (mis)using the app for bouldering, so that's where I'd like to write what climbing grades I did and what routes i projected etc haha)

Yeah I agree, I think calling the "Workout notes for ..." just Notes and the "Plan notes" instructions definitely clears up their function a bit more. I suppose you could also call "Plan" a Program? I feel like that's usually the more common term I'm used to, like "Ah what program are you doing?" "I'm doing PPL/5x5/etc."
Then it'd be that a Program/plan has Workouts, and Workouts are filled with Exercises. There's both workout instructions and exercise instructions, and then also workout notes (at the bottom for the whole workout) and exercise notes (what is now called workout notes, for each individual exercise)?
It's my opinion that this should be short attached notes just vaild till next workout and then reset
