Thread view: add view parent comment or ability to collapse all comments above until parent is visible
Like in Boost, where a comment has a quick-view button which shows the parent comment in a pop-up box (and that box has another such button asf.).
An alternative or additional, less quick but more permanent, would be a button which collapses all comments above the chosen comment so that the parent is visible.
This is also a feature in 3rd party reddit app Joey (the "collapses all comments above the chosen comment so that the parent is visible" version), if you want to see another example. In Joey there is ^ on top right of each comment which makes all previous-sibling comments collapse.
IMHO an icon would be nice, but a mere ^ would be confusing at first because the action I'd associate with it is upvoting or moving up to the previous sibling comment. I'd suggest either a symbol similar to ⏭️ but pointing up, e.g. ↟ / ⯭, or even something pointing up and to the left, like ⭶ / ⮴.
