Chromium windows expand when focused after tiling with Tiling Assistant on Wayland
Description
When using Tiling Assistant on Wayland, Chromium/Chrome-based windows improperly resize (grow larger) upon receiving focus after being snapped to tiling zones. This issue is specific to Chromium using the Wayland ozone platform and does not occur when:
- Chromium is using X11 as the ozone platform
- Using other applications (e.g., native GNOME apps)
Steps To Reproduce
- Install and activate Tiling Assistant extension
- Launch Chromium with Wayland support by either:
- Setting
#ozone-platform-hintflag toautoorwaylandinchrome://flags - Or launching with
--ozone-platform-hint=waylandflag
- Setting
- Snap Chromium window to a tiling zone using Tiling Assistant
- Click away to focus on another window
- Click back on the Chromium window to focus it
Expected behavior: Window maintains its size when focused Actual behavior: Window expands/grows larger when focused
System Information
- OS: Fedora 42
- Desktop Environment: GNOME Shell 48.0
- Display Server: Wayland
- Tiling Assistant version: 52
- Chromium version: 139.0.7258.66
Troubleshooting already attempted
- Disabled all other GNOME extensions to rule out conflicts - issue persists
- Confirmed the issue does not occur on X11 by setting
#ozone-platform-hinttox11 - Confirmed the issue does not affect other applications tiled with Tiling Assistant

This issue persists with Gnome 49 on Fedora 43. I'm open to support debugging of course. Or maybe this issue has to be debugged in another project?
