Classic Crafting Bug

Pressing the normal crafting button (Square for me) turns on classic crafting and I have to manually switch it off and I don't know why. I can't use console crafting without crafting table anymore because pressing the craft button brings up the normal menu.

EDIT: I tried relaunching the game before and it didn't help. But randomly after a long pause of closing it down and booting back up the crafting button works again and I'm continuing to get the console ui. I don't know what was happening though before.
