Be able to communicate with Ledger Nano X using bluetooth on desktop

Open wmitsuda opened this issue 5 years ago • 12 comments

Ledger Nano X has bluetooth support, but it works only on mobile. My desktop has bluetooth, why do I have to use a USB cable to connect Ledger Nano X with my computer? It makes no sense.

FIDO UTF would be useful for any application requiring 2FA, so this would widen the appeal of Ledger Nano X beyond even a crypto wallet.

@Szeremeta FIDO U2F already works over BT :)

https://github.com/LedgerHQ/ledgerjs/tree/master/packages/hw-transport-node-ble as I understand LedgerHQ already made library for bluetooth communication with ledeger nano x which can be used in ledger-live-desktop. But they are not going to add this feature to the app.

the product is good, dont know why they are trying to fuck it up with not focusing on adding this feature

Does anyone know why there is still no bluetooth on desktop after all these years?

I'm so bummed, I didn't read specifics before upgrading to the X. I don't do enough on my phone to make this worthwhile. I thought I was going to be saved from a life of cords. So disappointed to find out this doesn't work on Desktop. Huge waste of money upgrading from the nano S.

It's pretty ridiculous that Ledger ignores this so obvious request. It's all over Reddit and here as well. Yet, it gets ignored.

This and similar behavior is the reason people leave you for other solutions.

Rugged by Ledger itself on such an easy feature. The library is already there: https://www.npmjs.com/package/@ledgerhq/hw-transport-node-ble
